My Name is Joshua David Clark. I was born in a small town in Arizona called St. Johns. I have lived most of my life in northern Utah and central Arizona, up to the time that I was 13 years old. That is when I heard of Jim Harmston and the doctrine that he was teaching. Immediately, I knew it was true by the Witness of the Holy Spirit. In June of 1994, our family had moved to Manti, and we began practicing our new faith.
As I learned more of the gospel of Jesus Christ as taught in the scriptures, the Spirit of God came into my life, with more power then I had ever felt previously. I studied the scriptures, and the testimony came into my heart that Jim was teaching exactly what all of the prophets of the past have taught.
He taught the gathering of God’s Elect people just as Joseph Smith taught in 1830.
And ye are called to bring to pass the gathering of mine elect; for mine elect hear my voice and harden not their hearts; Wherefore the decree hath gone forth from the Father that they shall be gathered in unto one place upon the face of this land, to prepare their hearts and be prepared in all things against the day when tribulation and desolation are sent forth upon the wicked. (D&C 29:7-8)
He taught us the Law of Consecration. He taught us of who God is and His plan for us from the ordinances of Salvation through Exaltation as laid out plainly in the scriptures.
I know that this work is true with every part of my being. My testimony of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ is very strong, and expands far back, further then I can remember. It seems as if I have lived it for eternities, though I am only 18 years old. I have a great desire to be a part of it, as if it were the very essence and substance of my existence. This is God’s “Great and Marvelous work” as spoken of by Nephi in I Nephi 14:7. This is the “strange act” of the Father; it is the culmination of all of the works, prophecies, sufferings and joys of all of the saints of God since the world began. These are the Last Days, and God is bringing everything into one.
I love this work with all of my heart. It is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is my life, my joy, and my salvation. Jim Harmston is God’s servant and is on the earth at this time and is bringing forth the kingdom of God upon the earth. This is my testimony in the Holy name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
