Quotes from Models – Awake and Arise

By James D. Harmston

DID YOU FEEL THAT?

“Here’s the beach and here’s the water lapping up on it.  Oh, boy, it’s a beautiful day at the beach.  There’s not a cloud in the sky, the wind is not blowing, the surf is just ooh wonderful!  And we’ve got powdered sugar sand, not that volcanic stuff in Hawaii.

Well, we’ve got two little guys out here, a couple of these guys out here; they’re just doing their thing, you know, out here in the water, and they’re having a good time, wonderful day, and they’re body surfing.  Okay, well, along comes a wave that’s a little bit bigger than normal.  I want you to notice the reaction, here.  This guy says, wow, did you feel that?  Question.  This guy said, huh?  Question.  I didn’t feel anything!  Two completely different reactions to the same stimulus!  Totally different reactions!

Anyway, two different reactions to this thing and, yet, out here, coming, is a bigger one, and a bigger one, and then finally we have a great big tsunami.

Notice, there’s no wind, and no clouds.  This guy has an interesting reaction.  He feels one or two of these and says, something is going on, I’m out of here!  And he awakes and arises!  He awakes and arises, as the scripture says, and he heads for high ground.  This guy mocks him and he says, YOUR NUTS!  There’s nothing going on.  These bigger waves just make for a better ride.  Anyway, so this guy wakes up and he says, I’m out of here!  And this guy says, you’re nuts, it just makes for a better ride.  Well, guess what happened.  About the time this one hits, this guy is sucked down about forty feet.

He winds up about a mile and a half or two miles out and about 200 feet down.  He’s dead and several hours later his lifeless body washes up on the beach and there he lays with foam running out of his mouth.  I saw this happen at Acapulco, when I was staying at Acapulco. …   And he paid a price for not awaking and arising.  Hmm.

Well, this kind of stuff right here, (the first waves on the board) these early ones like this, they’re kind of an early warning—now, it’s not much of a warning, that’s for sure, okay, not much of a warning.”

WHAT IS ESCHATOLOGY?

“Now what does Eschatology mean?   No.  Eschatology is study of last day events.  Now they may be future, but eschatological means the study of last day events.  So eschatologically, is it something that is supposed to happen?   You know.   Baptists call it end time events.  Those kinds of things?  Mormons ignore it.  (All is well)  You know, they ignore that kind of stuff.  Prophesy doesn’t mean anything, you know.  It’s incomprehensible, we can’t comprehend it, so we don’t do anything .”

RECEIVING THE MYSTERIES OF THE KINGDOM:

“Okay, now, the 107th section of the Doctrine and Covenants, verses 18 and 19. The power and authority of the higher, or Melchizedek Priesthood, is to hold the keys of all the Spiritual Blessings of the Church—To have the privilege of receiving the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven. , to have the heavens opened unto them, to commune with the general assembly and Church of the Firstborn, and to enjoy the communion and presence of God the Father, and Jesus the mediator of the new covenant.

To have the privilege of receiving, what?   The mysteries of the kingdom

Okay, if you’ve got the higher or the Melchizedek Priesthood, you can obtain the keys of that Priesthood.  Where do you get the keys of that Priesthood?  In an endowment!  That’s where you get them, are the keys of that Priesthood.  Now, if you have those keys, you can obtain all the spiritual blessings of the church.  Notice, he didn’t say which church.  Now, I’m going to teach you that there are really two churches, but—one is a stepping stone.

Alright, now do you want the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, you’d better get the keys!  Do you want to be able to commune with the general assembly?  What’s that?  That’s all those people we’re interviewing on the other side of the veil.

You never heard this stuff in the Mormon Church, because they do indiscriminate work for the dead, and they’re sealing the world up in the pattern of a Telestial world.  All they are doing is a lot of dead work.  Okay?

Alright, and to stand in the presence of God, the Father, and Jesus, the Mediator of the New Covenant.

WORK FOR THE DEAD:

Have you interviewed anybody across the veil?  We have a very orderly system for doing this.  And so, right out of the shute, you get an endowment, everyday you pray in the robes with your family.  There are prayer sessions in which we, ahead of time, instruct those on the other side of the veil, members of the Church of the Firstborn, we’d like to interview, so and so, and so and so, and so and so.  We’ll meet at this time, at this place, at this altar, and we will interview them.  And, guess what?  We have an orderly system on the other side of the veil where those people are contacted and brought.  Sometimes, they don’t show up and the reason they don’t show up is because they have either rejected the message or they have not been taught, so we make assignments across the veil for them to be taught the truth.”

OVERCOMING TRADITIONS:

“Okay, getting anything into the heads of the Saints is like splitting hemlock knots using a corn dodger for a wedge and a pumpkin for a beetle.  Why, you know, these people are so attached to their traditions that anytime you teach them something new, even after all they’ve suffered for the Gospel, sometimes they fly apart and break like glass.”
