King David

DAVID WILL BE OUR SHEPHERD

“I will save My flock, and they will no longer be prey. I will judge between one sheep and another. I will appoint over them one shepherd, My servant David, and he will feed them. He will feed them and be their shepherd. I, the LORD, will be their God, and My servant David will be a prince among them. I, the LORD, have spoken” – JST Ezekiel 34:22-24

“But they shall serve the Lord their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.” – JST Jeremiah 30:9

It is for the prince; the prince, he shall sit in it to eat bread before the Lord (and who ate the shewbread before the Lord in the temple?

David did.); he shall enter by the way of the porch of that gate, and shall go out by the way of the same.” -JST Ezekiel 44:2-3

THE THREE WARRIORS AND THE BLESSED HEART OF THE MIGHTY KING DAVID

Of all the stories I have read of the great King David, there are none that better show the devotion he had to his God and the powerful devotion his warriors had for him than this. He was the man after God’s own heart.

“And David was in a hold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Bethlehem. And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!

And the three mighty men brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David; nevertheless he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the Lord.

And he said, Be it far from me, O Lord, that I should do this; is not this the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives? Therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mighty men.” 2 Samuel 23:14-17

Jesus Cried Out The Psalm of David From The Cross

“Eli, Eli, Lama Sabachthani” are the words “My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?” It was part of a prophetic psalm of King David He cried out as a call to His Father while He hung in agony. It’s a song He composed nearly a millennia before as King of Israel.

“For the choirmaster. To the tune of “The Doe of the Dawn.” A Psalm of David. ‘My God, my God, why have You forsaken me? Why are You so far from saving me, so far from my words of groaning?

I cry out by day, O my God, but You do not answer, and by night, but I have no rest. Yet You are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel…'” (Psalms 22:1-3)

Their Shepherd Is David, The Prince of God:

“I will save My flock, and they will no longer be prey. I will judge between one sheep and another. I will appoint over them one shepherd, My servant David, and he will feed them. He will feed them and be their shepherd. I, the LORD, will be their God, and My servant David will be a prince among them. I, the LORD, have spoken” (Ezekiel 34:22-24)

It is the Prince who calls for His bride. It is the Prince who would enter in the East Gate of Joseph to the City called “Holy” or New Jerusalem which is the bride of Christ.

Who is this Prince entering in that East Gate of the Holy city to sit on the throne of David? Jesus the “son of David”? Joseph,, the “Holy One of Israel”? David the anointed King of Israel? The answer is simply yes to all three for those who believe in Multiple Mortal Probations and the “Condescensions of God.”

Jesus Declares His Probations and Both He and His Bride Invite Us To His Wedding:

“I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I AM THE ROOT AND THE OFFSPRING OF DAVID, and the bright and morning star.

And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book;

And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly; Amen. Even so come, Lord Jesus.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.” (Revelations 22:16-21)

DAVID IS STILL ON THE THRONE

“Incline your ear, and come unto me; hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David…” Isaiah 55:3

God is telling us here that “the sure mercies of David” is exactly equal to the everlasting covenant. It means that despite the fact that you will most likely screw up in your life here and there and get it wrong from time to time, God in His mercy will give you another chance in another life to get it right because He sent you here to “learn by experience to discern good from evil.”

So what is the everlasting covenant? That would be the new and everlasting covenant. The promise of continuance, more lives, more chances to become God knowing both good and evil. Can an everlasting covenant ever be annulled? No it can’t. It’s by definition everlasting. It never comes to an end.

Did King David’s throne come to an end? King Saul’s did. God said it would not be established but King Davids? David’s throne still exists to this day. Did God stop talking about the promises made to David throughout the scriptures? He did not. How do we know that King David still sits on the throne? Because God still calls him to this day “my servant David” and God’s servants are rulers.

“Behold, I have given him (King David) for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people (Israel).” ( written nearly 200 years after the life of David) -Isaiah 55:4

Does that mean we still take orders from King David to this day? Yes it does. What does that make him to us? It makes Him our Lord and our God. He’s still the King of Israel. But how can this be after all he did what with Uriah and Bathsheba?

Do you remember that in Israel the High Priest, when he makes a sin offering and an atonement, he makes it not only for his people, but also for himself? Was Jesus not the “Great High Priest?” Is he not “The King of the Jews?” who like David, rode into Jerusalem on a donkey? King Saul of the tribe of Benjamin was a donkey herder and therefore only the donkey would be a fitting beast for the Lord to ride in triumph over his former enemy, who once tried to use him for target practice with the javelin, into the city gates.

Is Jesus not called the “son of David?” which is simply to say that he descended from David? Jesus did make an atonement for his people as their Great High Priest and King? He also made an atonement for himself, an infinite atonement extending through all of time, not just this time because Jesus was born and lived an innocent and sinless life which enabled him to atone for sin.
